(Thread) Estervale, the Oak Barrel Inn and Tavern, Friday night (Open)
It had been another long night of trying to stop Gretel from dressing in snappy women's clothing and parading around Estervale like she owned the place. Hansel resigned to a wooden chair near the fire with a rough piece of paper that he had folded and refolded, trying to keep control over his mind. "Come on, it's not going to kill you to go out for one night Hansel," Gretel whined from the back of his mind.

He sighed and dropped his hands into his lap. He took a deep breath and dropped the paper to the floor. He looked around the empty cabin and shook his head. The bare walls escaped the realm of interest. He was running out of excuses and he knew how much Gretel hated staying cooped up all the time. If he didn't go out himself Gretel would forcibly take over his body and make him go out. He knew how much energy would be drained out of her spirit if she did that and loosing her forever wasn't an option at this point. He looked around the cabin one more time and put out the fire. "Have it your way Gretel, but if I wake up wearing your little red pumps again..."

"No pumps," her voice promised from the back of his head. Gretel was happy enough to be getting out of the cabin for one night even if she wasn't behind the steering wheel. She was exhausted as it was from the previous night's activities. "I have got to get my own body," she said in a weary voice.

"I'm working on it," he said reservedly as he patted down his hair and pulled on his shoes. "Give me more time," he grabbed the door handle and pulled it open. The air greeted him kindly as he stepped from the warm cabin to the balmy night outside. It was not a long walk to the Oak Barrel Inn and Tavern from his remote settling outside the city. He had never walked there during the night but his feet knew the way to go thanks to Gretel's sense of direction. When he reached the dimly lit tavern he settled down on a stool. He only ordered a water for himself and sighed into the glass when he got it. He would have preferred the comforts of home, he never really saw what Gretel liked so much about going out.

Happy now, he thought begrudgingly, directing his thoughts to his sister.

Blue had given Howl and Hook the slip for the night, seeking adventure in a dimly lit tavern. He'd had several drinks already and was quite loose with both his tongue and demeanor. He spread his arms wide in welcoming gesture as a stranger took a stool not far down from his, spicy beer slopping down his shirt and arm, a little splattering onto his leg. "Ahoy!" he said loudly, though it was quite obvious this stranger was not a sailor, nor any sort of seaman.

Say hello. Gretel snickered. Hansel wished at this point in the night, so early already, that he was back at home.

If I ever wake up next to this guy I'm going to kill you Gretel, Hansel thought making a grimace into his glass of water.

We're not drunk enough for that darling brother, and for the most part pirates aren't gay, just say hello. Gretel giggled again.

"Uh... hello," Hansel said lightly looking up at the gruff man who had been so friendly.

"You're not a regular here," he said obviously.

"Yeah, I don't usually get out," he shrugged.

Well you would if you were more social dear brother, Gretel sneered.

Shut up Gretel.

"Why the hell not?" Blue asked. "Every one needs to let their hair down!" He was really drunk now, and still working on the drink in his hand.

Hansel shrugged. After not being able to think of anything to say Gretel decided to take it into her own hands.

"Because I'm lame," Hansel's hand motioned to the bar tender and Gretel ordered a drink. Hansel didn't have control over the words anymore, there was nothing he could do but mumbled annoyance in the back of his mind.

"Ah well, least yer honest," he said, a little flustered by the sudden admission. He was in a weird mood. "It's on me," he said to the tender more than to Hansel.

"Thanks," a little smile spread across Hansel's face. "So hat brings you here on this fine night?"

"Booze!" he replied sloppily with such cheer that the bartender winced. He was thinking that Blue was almost at his limits and he probably wasn't too far off.

"Well here's to booze," Hansel raised his glass and then finished off the drink.

"To booze!" Blue agreed heartily and finished his drink, slamming it on the bar. "Uno más!" he yelled in Spanish, pushing more money across the bar at the reluctant tender who poured another round for the boys.

Another drink, Gretel thought as she quirked her brother's light eyebrow. I'll be kind to you tonight brother, because it looks as though the pirate is going to get us drunk for free. "To booze," Hansel agreed.

Blue grinned and downed a large portion of his new drink. He hadn't been out since his memory had been restored. He'd been keeping a low profile and stringing together those peculiar thoughts that kept nagging at him. The meteor shower. The murder of number 8. The cold, hard knot in his chest where his heart used to be. Tonight, he laughed it all off with jovial ease. Drinking was an easy excuse to throw off the truth and importance of his "mission from god."

He smiled over to Hansel. "Tell me boy, are you in the mood to pick up some ladies and have ourselves some fun?"

A slick grin slipped across his face. "Naturally," he said with ease. "That would make for an interesting evening."

"Let's go then!" Blue said cheerfully.
